May the Lord fill your life with the fruits of love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control (Galatians 5:22-23).

If God is not first in your life, then something else is (Deut 6:4-5, Matt 6:24, 33; 10:32-38, Mark 8:34, Luke 11:23, 1 John 5:21).

The chief danger of the 20th century will be religion without the Holy Spirit, Christianity without Christ, forgiveness without repentance, salvation without regeneration, politics without God, and heaven without hell.-William Booth

When we are not fully convicted of our sins, we rationalize and tolerate them. What exactly do I mean? Ever wonder what “religious tolerance” means? Here’s an example of what a faith (belief) statement looks like from a “tolerant perspective” that promotes “all ways lead to heaven:”

OCRT Statement of Belief:
We are a multi-faith group. As of 2008-FEB, we consist of one Atheist, Agnostic, Christian, Wiccan (a “witch”) and Zen Buddhist. Thus, the OCRT staff lack agreement on almost all theological matters, such as belief in a supreme being, the nature of God, interpretation of the Bible and other holy texts, whether life after death exists, what form the afterlife may take, etc.

We do believe:

  • In the inherent worth of every person. People are worthy of respect, support, and caring simply because they are human. Unfortunately, we have not reached a consensus on when human life, in the form of an ovum and spermatozoon, becomes a human person. On this matter, our lack of agreement mirrors that of society at large.
  • In working towards a culture that is relatively free of discrimination on the basis of gender, race, sexual orientation, gender identity, religion, national origin, physical disability, age, etc.
  • In the sanctity of the human person. We oppose the use of torture and cruel or unusual punishment including the death penalty.
  • In the importance of democracy within religious, political and other structures.
  • In the separation of church and state; and the freedoms of speech, association, and expression.
  • That the systems of truth that we have studied on the topics of morals, ethics, and religious belief are not absolute: they vary by culture, by religion, and over time.
  • In the generally positive influence that most religions have had on their followers and on society.
  • In the importance of individual believers determining evil influences and policies within their chosen faith group, and strongly advocate for their correction.
  • In the importance of education. We believe that people are not truly educated unless they have studied the world's major religions and ethical systems. They need to learn of the good and bad impacts they have had on society.

About our use of the BCE/CE date notation:

We abandoned use of the traditional AD/BC notation for identifying years. After a long debate, we made the decision to use the religiously neutral CE/BCE notation which we feel is less offensive to non-Christians.

So, what exactly does “tolerance” mean?

  1. OK to teach that there are “many ways to God” just as long as you stand for love and peace
  2. OK to believe that good deeds will get you into heaven, as if salvation is earned
  3. OK to discourage Christian prayer but encourage Islamic bowing, Hindu incense burning, Arabic hookahs or Rastafarian pot smoking
  4. OK to seek popular psychology for self-help, self-improvement and self-empowerment as replacement over the Bible
  5. OK to accept New Age ideology, which includes anything and everything based on the premise of “change” or “reformed”
  6. OK to protect those who stand as a threat to the majority because “they have rights too”
  7. OK to protect the guilty on death row as well as the trees, the oceans, the “ mother earth,” and endangered species but abort an unborn child
  8. OK to be a “vegetarian” in order to discourage inhumane treatment of animals but stand for “pro-choice”
  9. OK to define abortion by the stage in which it is performed
  10. OK for the schools to secretly take under-aged girls down to abortion clinics to protect their privacy
  11. OK for physician-assisted suicide because “you’re going to die anyways”
  12. OK to be tolerant of gang violence, drug trafficking (legalization) and school shootings like they were only video games
  13. OK to encourage graffiti as art instead of vandalism
  14. OK to tolerate difference in race, religion and sex yet chase after the perfect face lift, tummy tuck or lip implosion so you can socially fit in
  15. OK for Playboy or Maxim to be considered “tasteful” pornography
  16. OK not to give pornography a rating system (X & XXX are NOT official MPAA ratings but rather pornography marketing ploys)
  17. OK for the ‘F-word’ to be used in PG-13 movies
  18. OK for child predators to assimilate into our neighborhoods, and end up around our schools and parks
  19. OK to endorse transgendered thinking so kids as young as the 3rd grade begin to question their own gender
  20. OK to write laws suppoting the rights of 3rd graders who claim they have transgender concerns
  21. OK for a transgendered “man” to give birth to a child
  22. OK to soften the acts of infidelity and promiscuity as socially acceptable behavior
  23. OK to discredit the oath of marriage by making divorce acceptable
  24. OK to allow same-sex marriages in an effort to promote “Christian tolerance”
  25. OK to be gay because homosexuals don’t hurt anyone
  26. OK for our schools to endorse same-sex marriages, abortion, evolution, COEXIST, Hinduism, Buddhism, and Islam but not Christianity
  27. OK to think you stand for “peace” and “unity” but overwhelming statistics show that over 50% marriages will end before 8 years
  28. OK for children to talkback and disrespect their parents as well as other elders in society
  29. OK to have blatant disregard for common courtesy
  30. OK for public drunkenness, just as long as it is not too obnoxious
  31. OK to be jealous and hate your co-worker or neighbor because they have what you desire (cars, homes, clothing, handbags, vacations, trips, money, etc)
  32. OK to believe in “little, small lies” but “big lies” are harmful
  33. OK to take short cuts in order to get ahead in life, just as long as you don’t call it “lying and cheating”
  34. OK to be impatient and expect things quicker and faster
  35. OK to take light of this message because it only applies to everyone else

Basically, "tolerance" is to accept something wrong as right so a person is not offended for their wrong behavior. When someone accuses me of being intolerant I understand that they are just asking me to give them a "thumbs-up" so they can get the warm fuzzies at night when they sleep. Make no mistake, I do NOT want someone to sleep well at night if they are not being convicted of their sins! Why would I want someone to perish? There is Good News for us sinners and what a shame if we do not share the grace of God with others (Jeremiah 20:9, 1 Corinthians 9:16-17).

It boils down to the fact that do you think we can rely on our own logic or the logic of others? What if we just dismiss bad behavior as “art” instead? Deception is one of the greatest weapons of the enemy. Satan smiles and gains power as we distort the truth of God to fit our lifestyle. How can we expect Jesus to pay attention to us unless we are willing to pay attention to the things that matter to Him? The importance of knowing the scripture cannot be overlooked. Because of our sins we will ALL face judgment that will determine our eternal fate. The reality is, we are ALL sinners and doomed for Hell (Romans 3:9-20). That’s the bad news. Do you see yourself as acceptable to God? Job was perhaps the most righteous man alive, yet it was not until he saw God that he realized his true worth (Job 42:1-6). Even Peter admitted that he was too filthy to be around the purity of Jesus (Luke 5:1-8). The Word of God is clear and unequivocally tells us to repent from our sins, not tolerate them and make them socially acceptable.

The question then becomes, is God TRULY and FAITHFULLY your first love in your life (Matthew 6:24; 10:32-38, Mark 8:34, Luke 11:23, 1 John 5:21)? If you are not serving Him first, then you are serving someone or something in His place. We are specifically warned that there is only ONE way through the narrow gates of Heaven. Either you will face eternal death or eternal life. Which will you choose? If you choose to accept Jesus Christ as your Savior, and accept His resurrection as a renewal of life, then that’s the GOOD NEWS! God gave up His one and only begotten Son in death so we could be forgiven. He purchased our freedom with His blood! He is truly a gracious and loving God and wants EVERYONE to inherit His Kingdom (Romans 3:21-31)!

Confess your sins through Jesus, turn away from your wickedness, and ask for His Holy Spirit to guide you and fill your heart with His desires TODAY (2 Chronicles 7:14)!

Think about this: If we could have reached God any other way, why did Jesus have to die on the cross? His VOLUNTARY death makes His purpose even more compelling!

Look at all the trendy religious movements in Hollywood alone. From Hinduism and Kabbalah to New Age ideas like The Secret. I have news for you. There is no secret to God's grace and love! Now why do fads and cultural identities come and go? You know, Satan will change his word all the time so it sounds good but the Word of God is ALWAYS the same and NEVER changes (Numbers 23:19, Malachi 3:6, Hebrews 6:17-18; 13:8, James 1:17)! This is how we need to discern the difference between a lie and the truth. The truth never changes. Listen carefully to the explanation that society has accepted for homosexuality, that they are born that way. It makes me wonder if those men in prison are fulfilling their lusts or fulfilling their genetic purpose. There are biologists getting paid to research a genetic explanation for sexual preference. I have news for you. That theory, or notion, not only contradicts scriptural Law (Leviticus 18:22; 20:13 [see also]) but totally rejects God's created and chosen order! We are designed to procreate, just like all other species. If humans were born to be homosexual, our existence would have ceased years ago... especially in light of Evolutionary thinking! However, this theory does come close to one fact: We are all born into sin (1 Kings 8:46, Psalm 51:5; 53:3, Ecclesiastes 7:20, Isaiah 53:6, Romans 3:23). It is what we do about it that makes all the difference in where we spend eternity! Rest assured, like so many of our traditional transgressions (e.g. pre-marital relationships, living together out of wedlock, divorce, single-parenting, abortion, alcohol, & marijuana) another explanation will be forthcoming. Keep in mind, though, unlike true genetic explanations like eye color or race, which cannot be reversed, homosexuality can be! There are thousands of former homosexuals (Michael Glatze blog, Stephen Bennett Ministries (SBM), Desert Stream Ministries, Mastering Life MinistriesExodus International, Transformed Image, and PFOX resources). How many former Hispanics or Asians do you know? Do you see how the truth can be altered/changed? Something else to think about, why is it some people insist on questioning their gender identity but nobody has ever questioned their ethnicity identity?

Consider this: Why do all beliefs except Christianity suggest that you can earn your way into Heaven by your own merits, or through some form of legalism or ritual? How many people do you know that have been delivered (renewed) by believing in agnosticism? Mormonism? the Watchtower? Christian Science? Scientology? Buddhism? Hinduism? Islam? How many former alcoholics, adulterers, or pornographers discovered the truth and were rescued by those beliefs? More importantly, where are those religious leaders? Are they still in their grave? Even the church can confuse legalism and rituals over salvation. So, can any of those beliefs or religions give eternal life (restoration)? Jesus reminds us that false teachers who profess to speak the Word and heal others in the name of the Lord but will not be recognized by Him (Matthew 7:21-23). He said we must be Born Again in order to see the Kingdom of God (John 3). When you walk into a dark room, don't you naturally look for light? Then why seek lies when you can seek the truth instead! Reach out for that eternal light switch today by crying out for Jesus (Luke 12:54-56, Luke 13:22-30, John 8:12).

Again, how do you explain our times?

For a time is coming when people will no longer listen to sound and wholesome teaching. They will follow their own desires and will look for teachers who will tell them whatever their itching ears want to hear. They will reject the truth and chase after myths (2 Timothy 4:3-4).”

Jesus describes that the last days will be like it was in Noah’s day. We were told by Jesus that people were enjoying banquets, parties and weddings right up to the time Noah entered his boat (Matthew 24:38, Luke 17:27). With the exception of Noah's family, the entire population of the world was gone. It was business as usual and then, just like that, they all perished! We are also reminded that just as there was only one way into the ark there will be only one way into Heaven. He also tells us that before He returns a series of events will transpire beforehand. He tells us to look to Him and not look back as Lot's wife did. He wants His flock to be ready, stay alert, and stay focused (Luke 12:45; 21:34-36, Romans 13:12-14, 1 Corinthians 5:9-11; 6:9-11, Galatians 5:16-22, 1 Peter 4:2-4).
