May the Lord fill your life with the fruits of love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control (Galatians 5:22-23).

If God is not first in your life, then something else is (Deut 6:4-5, Matt 6:24, 33; 10:32-38, Mark 8:34, Luke 11:23, 1 John 5:21).

Salvation
"When God our Savior revealed His kindness and love, He saved us, not because of the righteous things we had done, but because of His mercy. He washed away our sins, giving us a new birth and new life through the Holy Spirit. He generously poured out the Spirit upon us through Jesus Christ our Savior. Because of His grace He declared us righteous and gave us confidence that we will inherit eternal life." (Titus 3:4-7)

Confidence does not come from doing well in a sport or at work. It does not mean you are better than someone else because you received a better grade in school, have more degrees and professional designations, earned a big promotion or pay raise at work, or closed the "big deal" in sales. Confidence should not be confused with vanity and self-righteousness. These things are evil and are not pleasing with the Lord.

Instead, confidence comes from being satisfied with what we have and knowing that God will never fail or forsake us (Deuteronomy 31:6-8, Joshua 1:5, 1 Chronicles 28:20, Psalm 23, 2 Corinthians 4:8-10). It comes from being humble and not haughty. It comes from contentment and not from graveling. To be one with the Lord is where confidence originates (Psalm 91, 2 Corinthians 3:1-6, Colossians 2:2-3). Unwavering faith and whole-hearted trust in Him (Hebrews 10:35-36). That is confidence, and Jesus Christ set the bar!

  • I will not exhibit frustration or apprehension for I am promised the peace of God which surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:6-9).
  • I will never express self-condemnation for there is no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus (Romans 8:1).
  • I will not have feelings of unworthiness for I am His workmanship created in Christ Jesus unto good works (Ephesians 2:10).
  • I will never be intimidated for if God be for me who can be against me (Romans 8:31).
  • I will never feel insecure because the Lord shall be my confidence and keep my foot from being shaken (Proverbs 3:26).

One of the most repeated expressions in the Bible is, "Don't Be Afraid" ("Do not be afraid") and "Be strong & courageous". In fact, those words appear in about 26 Books and mentioned almost 100 times!

See also Luke 12:32, Romans 8:15, Hebrews 13:6, 1 John 4:4. Also, read through the Books of Psalms & Proverbs
